Campfire & Owl Walk at Bill Sadowski Park

Enjoy an evening of discovery in the world of owls! Start the night with a presentation all about these nocturnal birds before entering the nature trails to search for them with a guide. See the difference of the park after dark and encounter other nocturnal natives such as raccoons and night spiders. This program meets at the park Nature Center; please bring comfortable closed-toe shoes, insect repellant, and a flashlight. Feel free to bring your own marshmallows to roast on our campfire following the walk

Chapman Field Kayak Trek

Learn about the history and ecology of this once-airfield turned park as you paddle through a variety of South Florida habitats. Fish and birds are plentiful as you journey through a mangrove forest, past an active bird rookery and into the Biscayne Bay. This trip meets at the Chapman Field Park launch ramp; please bring plenty of drinking water (at least one quart), closed-toe shoes, and protection from the sun.

Fishing for Beginners

Come join this class and leave with the knowledge required for ethical angling. Here we will learn valuable fishing information such as fish biology, and identification, various fishing techniques. After go out and perfect your fishing skills. Fishing equipment will be provided for all participants but you may use your own gear if you like.

Introduction to Archery at Bill Sadowski Park

Learn about the origins and history of archery as both a sport and tool for survival in this educational and hands-on seminar before being instructed on proper technique. After the lesson, take some practice shots at a target to test your new skills. This program meets at the park's Nature Center; please bring comfortable shoes and protection from the sun.

Kayaking 101 Clinic at Bill Sadowski Park

There is no better way to SEE MIAMI DIFFERENTLY than from the seat of a kayak along one of our many waterways. Join our naturalist as they teach you the basic skills required for kayaking. Participants will then get the opportunity to practice their new skills along the C-100 canal that flows right by Bill Sadowski Park. This clinic meets at the Nature Center. Please bring plenty of water, comfortable clothes, and protection from the sun.

Nature Hike & Animal Encounter

Enjoy a morning of discovery in the world of native and exotic cretures that call the park home. Starts with a hike through the endless nature trails and search for these creatures with the help of our a naturalist. After the hike you'll get to meet some of the nature center residents and a chance to interact with Shakira, the resident Red Tail Boa.

Nature Walk & Animal Encounter @ Bill Sadowski

Come join our naturalists on a short guided hike through tropical hardwood hammock, with a chance to identify native wildlife and common plant species. Back in the nature center, learn about the fish, amphibians, and reptiles in our living collections - with a chance to meet some up close!
